Mode Configuration​

Repeater Mode​

In repeater mode, the WAVLINK device will build a wireless connection with the host router and help you get a larger WiFi coverage.

  1. Plug the Device into an electrical outlet between your router (Host Wi-Fi) and the Wi-Fi dead zone. The location you choose must be within the range of your existing host Wi-Fi.
  2. Switch the mode selector to repeater position.
  3. Plug the Extender into an electrical outlet near your Wi-Fi router.
  4. Shift the power switch to ON and wait until one LED starts blink.
  5. Connect the WiFi signal of WAVLINK device. The WiFi name should be WAVLINK-XXXXX.
  6. Please disconnect other Internet connection including Ethernet cable or VPN from the PC/laptop and open the web browser and enter http://waplogin.link or http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
  7. Enter the default management page password admin(all lowercase)
  8. Select the Country/Region and Time Zone.
  9. Select the Wi-Fi signal of your host router and click next.
  10. Enter the WiFi password of the host router and click Next.
  11. Create a new WiFi password for WAVLINK device and click Save.
  12. After configuration, please connect the new WiFi signal of WAVLINK device and check if you could get Internet. The management page password should be same as the WiFi password of the WAVLINK device.

Some notes:

  1. If the SSID of the host router is hidden, please try to select manual input and enter the SSID of the host router manually.
  2. If you want to create a new administrator password, please deselect the option Same as the wireless password, then you could create a new administrator password.
  3. You could change the SSID and create a new SSID.

AP Mode​

In AP mode, you should connect the WAVLINK device to the host router via Ethernet cable. Then you could get Internet from the WiFi signal of the WAVLINK device.

  1. Connect the WAVLINK device to the power outlet and connect it to the host router via Ethernet cable.
  2. Switch the mode selector to AP position.
  3. Shift the power switch to ON and wait until all WiFi led gets solid on.
  4. Connect the WiFi signal of WAVLINK device. The WiFi name should be WAVLINK-XXXXX
  5. Disconnect other Internet connection including Ethernet cable or VPN from the PC/laptop and open the web browser and enter http://waplogin.link or http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
  6. Enter the default management page password admin(all lowercase).
  7. Select the Country/Region and Time Zone.
  8. Create a new WiFi password and click Save.
  9. Wait for the progress bar to the end and check if you could get Internet from the WiFi signal of WAVLINK device.

Some notes:

  1. When smart DHCP services is enabled. The WAVLINK device itself will be the DHCP server when it is not connected to the host router. Once it is connected to the host router via Ethernet cable, the DHCP services will be disabled and the host router will be the DHCP server.
  2. When the smart DHCP services is disabled, the DHCP services of the WAVLINK device will not work at any case.
  3. If you want to create a new administrator password, please deselect the option Same as the wireless password, then you could create a new administrator password.
  4. You could change the SSID and create a new SSID.

Router Mode​

In Router mode, you should connect the WAVLINK device to the host router via Ethernet cable.Then you could get Internet from the WiFi signal of the WAVLINK device.

  1. Connect the WAVLINK device to the power outlet and connect it to the host router/modem via Ethernet cable.
  2. Switch the mode selector to Router position.
  3. Shift the power switch to ON and wait until all WiFi led gets solid on.
  4. Connect the WiFi signal of WAVLINK device. The WiFi name should be WAVLINK-XXXXX.
  5. Disconnect other Internet connection including Ethernet cable or VPN from the PC/laptop and open the web browser and enter http://waplogin.link or http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
  6. Enter the default management page password admin(all lowercase).
  7. Select the Country/Region and Time Zone.
  8. Choose the correct Wan Type then create a new WiFi password and click Save.
  9. Wait for the progress bar to finish and check that you can access the Internet using the WiFi signal from the WAVLINK device.

Some Notes:

  1. You could contact ISP to check the correct Wan Type. Or if possible, please connect the host router/modem to your PC directly via Ethernet cable and check if you could get internet.
  2. If you could get internet, please choose DHCP as Wan Type.If you could not get internet, please choose PPPoE as the Wan Type.
  3. If you want to create a new administrator password, please deselect the option Same as the wireless password, then you could create a new administrator password.
  4. You could change the Wi-Fi name(SSID) and create a new SSID.
